The Mummy MOT

Every pregnancy and delivery is different, but one thing that is common to all women are the amazing changes our bodies make to accommodate the development and arrival of a baby.

The Mummy MOT is suitable from 6 weeks onwards, although it is never too late to address any issues you feel are related to pregnancy or childbirth. The 60 minute appointment is a detailed head to toe assessment of your postnatal body.

“I’ve been seeing Julie since the birth of my second son five months ago. I did the Mummy MOT, which has been brilliant.”

The Mummy MOT assessment includes

✓ Posture ✓ Movement patterns ✓ Sore joints or spine ✓ Breathing ✓ Diastasis Recti/tummy gap ✓ Perineal tear/episiotomy or C- section scar check ✓ Internal assessment of your pelvic floor muscles ✓ Screen for prolapse ✓ Individualised return to exercise plan

Advice

Although it is generally advised to wait for 6 weeks following the birth of your baby in order to allow any inflammation to settle down, please do get in touch if you are experiencing pain or significant changes to your bladder or bowel function. It maybe appropriate to see you sooner.
