Clinical Pilates

Pilates is a complete mind/body exercise modality which can improve posture, strength, mobility, co-ordination and balance.

It is low impact and is a useful tool to move on from more focused rehab or a good place to start if you are wanting to become more active following an injury or illness.
Clinical Pilates uses the traditional Pilates principles and exercise repertoire but applied for specific therapeutic purpose. 1:1 classed led by an experienced physiotherapist means that sessions can be tailored to your specific needs. Both Pilates Reformer and mat based classes are available.

“I contacted Julie with a view to doing clinical Pilates. I have started to get my life back and would thoroughly recommend to anyone.”

Who Would benefit from Clinical Pilates?

Because Clinical Pilates sessions are tailored to each individual, everyone can benefit. All sessions encompass the 8 key elements of traditional Pilates; ✓ Relaxation ✓ Concentration ✓ Alignment ✓ Centering ✓ Breathing ✓ Co-ordination ✓ Flowing movements ✓ Stamina

Exercises can be modified to provide the right amount of challenge and can complement traditional rehab following an injury or surgery. No two sessions are the same and with regular completion you can expect improved strength, mobility, posture and body awareness. For this reason, Pilates can be a useful tool in preventing injury as well as improving general health and well being.
